This perfume is part of Floris "Journals" series dedicated to parts of London and particular eras when these locations were making culture and fashion news.

1976 is elegantly sartorial, woods carefully tailored into a smart arrangement and decorated with bergamot and aromatic herbs.
Connoisseurs might recognise a fougere idea but executed in a '70s fashion (as this recipe gets reinvented every 10 years or so since the 19th century).

Boutonnière no.7 by Arquiste £180.00
- Key notes:
- gardenia
- lavender
- mandarin
- oakmoss
- Aromagroups:
- aromatic
- floral
May 1899, Foyer of the Opera-Comique, Paris
A dignified and refined celebration of masculinity, Boutonniere No7 opens with fresh aromatic notes of lavender, bergamot and a subtle note of mandarin.
During the intermission 7 men gather in the Grand Foyer seeking new flirtations and encounters. A heart of crisp and green gardenia is a nod to the considered gesture of a single gardenia bloom, worn in the boutonniere (buttonhole). Indolic tinged petals jasminoides (star jasmine) mingle with the gardenia blooms, heightened by an animalic note of genet (broom shrub) absolute.
Labdanum, oakmoss, vetiver and castoreum lend salty soapy facets that contradict the smooth polished gardenia.
A genteel bouquet.
