Mon Boudoir was created by Master Perfumer Robert Bienaimé and originally was launched in 1919. It was Queen Marie of Romania signature perfume. On the occasion of the centenary of the formula Houbigant revived this inimitable perfume for us to admire and indulge in.

Mon Boudour is an opulent incensy chypre with an animalic touch (a nod to dark musks - the prevalent base note in the early 20^th century formulas). The animalic layer is built from tart rose, the balsamic Tahitian vanilla, ylang-ylang and ambergris.

There is also a luxurious powdery nuance woven from orris, heliotrope, and benzoin.

Created in celebration of the James Bond film franchise’s special anniversary, 60 years since the release of Dr No, in 1962.

A rich and spicy fragrance with amber at its base, this captivating scent is a blend of refreshing citrus and juniper notes set against a subtly smoky accord with flashes of spicy dianthus carnation and an aromatic heart created by a fusion of rose, lavender, rosemary, and geranium, underscored by the reassuring warmth of sensual amber, sandalwood, oakmoss and musk.

1988 is about Mayfair in the late 80s and perhaps is a perfume version of 'posh' (Mayfair being the most expensive area to live in London and on this planet in general). Mayfair is central London, it's home to Sotheby's, top hotels, embassies, nightclubs with serious face control and top dining.

How would that translate into a perfume? 1988 is built around a plush rose core, generously decorated with musk and sandalwood. There is an interesting sharp green galbanum highlight just to make it a bit more serious and set it aside from all the lighthearted roses out there.

This perfume was inspired by turning the pages of a book and breathing in the smell of dry paper mingling with fresh outdoors air. Its complex blend of herbal eucalyptus, warm sandalwood, and crisp cedarwood results in an unexpectedly fresh scent.

No. 89 has been an icon among the Floris collection for over 60 years. First crafted in 1951, No. 89 takes its name from the number of their flagship shop on Jermyn Street.

Ian Fleming who was a customer of Floris mentions No. 89 in his James Bond universe.

I was inspired while visiting Kew Gardens in London in May. Every May there are hundreds of blooming magnolia trees in different sorts, sizes, scents and colours. Usually it is a very rainy season and my inspiration was to create a scent of the water and rain on magnolia trees.  

The symbol of this modern perfume is an American modern dance pioneer Ruth St. Denis. She is not only a very talented performer, but also very feminine.
