Vanagloria by Laboratorio Olfattivo is an oriental vanilla fragrance that balances warm spices and rich resins with a creamy sweetness. Its saffron and incense create a smoky, slightly resinous opening, while pineapple adds a subtle fruity brightness. Tonka beans and vanilla provide a smooth, gourmand base, complemented by frankincense and musk for depth and longevity. “Udbaha” means “marriage” in Bangla, and this extrait references the Bangladeshi Holud Night celebration before the wedding. The festival is decorated with marigolds, roses and tuberoses. The aromas of festival sweets and treats fill the air: sugar, nuts, cardamom and saffron, mingling with oranges, pineapple and ripe mangoes. A spicy/earthy paste of turmeric and fenugreek is applied to the bride and groom’s body, enhanced by warm amber. And summoning the ceremonial application of henna, Bengal oud and oakmoss weaves a funky green trail through the proceedings. A deep and joyful perfume.

«I have fond memories of my meeting with Roberto, which I like to think of as a ‘sharing’ encounter, with all the meanings that this word can have. The sharing of our different experiences, our convictions, our tastes, but also the discovery of what we share, during the course of a particularly interesting dialogue.  First and foremost, we share a sincere and deep love for perfumery, in all its forms, all its expressions. We also share a respect for natural raw materials, which only want for us to express their multiplicity. In the same way, we share the curiosity to explore new forms of imagining the olfactory form for what it is, for its roughness, for its development. We share this aspiration of freedom, which allows us to create without limits, and which is the hallmark of the Masters’ Collection.  Finally, we share the conviction that the authenticity of the idea, of the creative reflection, and, more simply put, of the perfume, will always be understood and valued by the consumer. I had wanted to work on a fragrance that would highlight the vanilla bean for many years, and this desire was shared by Roberto. This fragrance was developed with total creative freedom, bringing together everything we share with Roberto, and it is a great honor to see it shared with all of you today»

This is the updated packaging Vanagloria, now part of the Extreme collection.

A fragrance that expresses all the richness of vanilla in its many nuances. Vanagloria is built around a sublime quality of LMR vanilla pods, whose most subtle tones I have amplified. This Bourbon vanilla, grown in the Indian Ocean, is extracted using CO₂, a cold-extraction technique that reveals the full spectrum of its gourmand, floral, leathery, and spicy notes. Its leathery character is reinforced by saffron, made addictive by a touch of tonka bean, while swirls of incense add a mystical aura to its texture.

Perfumer: Serge De Oliveira

An extravagant fruity perfume in which warm boozy spices (cinnamon and cloves) incite carefree fruit into jammy debauchery in some dense sweet patchouli setting. Check out the crazy banana explosion in the opening.

The Sniff on Mint's Meek Passion:

"[it] is a scent for those who like their fragrances on the darker, more impolite and dirtier end of the spectrum. It evokes booze and sweat and smoke on the skin in its wear. The way the fragrance begins though is cheerful and totally unexpected making for an interesting juxtaposition."

Pluie de Soleil is a sunny fruity floral. Lemon and bergamot give Pluie de Soleil a fresh opening followed by delicate hints of freesia, white peach and strawberry.

The central fruity floral facet rests on a base of sandalwood, cashmeran and vanilla. With its title translating as 'It’s raining Sun’ Pluie de Soleil is a joyful, vivacious fragrance evocative of a Mediterranean summer.

The new and third formula in the Extreme Talismans collection (after Osang and Talento).

Athanor is a scented incarnation of the 50th hexagon from the ancient Chinese Book of Change.

50/“Ting”, alchemic athanor or cauldron – a symbol of change within, the man being the crucible in which new energies come about from various ingredients transforming and merging.

Mendittorosa in their unique alchemic way try to explore the metaphysics of the universe through perfume formulas.

Athanor is a rich incense perfume with an unusual sulfur streak.

There is a tiny gold plated bronze nugget in the bottle and the cap is a miniature of two atlas-like figures holding the athanor of change.

Note from the brand:

“[Use] your nose. Always. Feel the sulfur evaporating from the process. Giving way to a delicate body of saffron and flowers, finding its space between incense and precious wood. Let the Athanor enhance your personality and lead your way.”

The azalai is a caravan route through the Saharan desert where camel trains have transported salt and gold for a thousand years. Along the route stood a single acacia tree, the only living thing in an ocean of sand. 150 km from any other, this was the loneliest tree in the world, a sacred testament to the resilience of life, that had guided caravans for centuries. When a drunken truck driver crashed into it in 1973, killing it, the sacred tree passed from legend to myth. This phantom tree in the desert is the inspiration for Azalai.

The scent is as an olfactory impression of gold, with radiant warmth from saffron and blood orange, and the plush musk velvione (a material redolent of the powdery scent of a newborn’s head). Gum acacia, a syrup made from acacia sap, provides sugary sweetness balanced by salty amber and incense. A touch of mint tea and dried fruit pays homage to the Tuareg caravan riders.
