The following are some reasons why perfumes can become unavailable:

  1. Each year, the International Fragrance Association (IFRA) issues ever-stricter safety and allergen regulations. This affects quite a few classic formulas as well as niche compositions, and sometimes brands have to discontinue a perfume if they are unable to reformulate.
  2. The brand decides to change the concentration. For example, an eau de parfum is reformulated as an extrait, effectively turning it into a different perfume.
  3. The brand ceases operating. The creative director passed away, got bored, started a new project, sold the business, etc.
  4. The brand cannot keep up with logistics and production demands, with disruptions for up to a year. If there is no regular production and availability schedule, it is not viable for a stockist to carry the brand.
  5. The brand changed the distribution model, eg from niche to duty free.

Crépuscule des Âmes (Discontinued) - Atelier des Ors - Bloom Perfumery

Crépuscule des Ames is the ‘twilight of the souls’ and a perfume to enslave the senses with fine spices and a warm golden glow. A second skin to wear in the dusky hours while the souls are at play, when we feel deep desires and the duality inherent in our consciousness.

A radiating warmth that speaks to carnal pleasure and desire imbued with the furry warmth of Typhoeus. Incense, patchouli and hyraceum heat the primitive, animalic aura.

For moments when we seek the truth, to find a way through temptation.

An addictive, empowering fragrance with an element of intrigue…

All about this fragrance

Vibe check

This is a fragrance for close quarters and low light, when the room has quieted and the air feels charged rather than busy. It suits someone who wants a warm, slightly mysterious presence that reads as intimate up close and leaves a smoldering trace behind.

How to wear

Best in cool weather or evening air, where its incense, spice and animalic facets can unfold without becoming heavy. Apply sparingly at first; one to three sprays are enough to let the warm, resinous trail sit close to the skin while still projecting a soft, smoky aura.

Who it’s for

For wearers who like aromatic woods with depth, spice and a darker, more sensual edge. It will appeal to those drawn to incense, animalic nuances and fragrances that feel textured, intimate and a little enigmatic rather than bright or transparent.

The nose

Marie Salamagne. Known for compositions that balance texture, radiance and restraint, Salamagne often builds fragrances with a clear architectural line and a polished, tactile finish. Her work spans luminous florals, woods and modern ambers, and she is closely associated with Atelier des Ors’ rich, gilded style. Atelier des Ors has worked exclusively with her since the house’s founding, and her role here is central: she translates the brand’s opulent, artistic brief into a composition that feels both sensual and controlled. In a fragrance like Crépuscule des Âmes, her style suits the tension between aromatic clarity, incense depth and animalic warmth.

Collaborators

Jean-Philippe Clermont shaped the brand’s creative direction and gave the house its concept of perfume as an exceptional adornment, while Marie Salamagne developed the fragrance itself within that vision, translating the brief into a sensual, textured composition.

Atelier des Ors’s story

Atelier des Ors treats perfume as haute craftsmanship: richly composed, aesthetically refined and tied to the symbolism of gold. The house favors depth, texture and natural materials, with an emphasis on slow creation, artistic freedom and a distinctly French sense of elegance.

Crépuscule des Âmes (Discontinued)’s concept

Crépuscule des Âmes is built around the idea of twilight as a moment of duality, when desire, temptation and self-knowledge come into focus. The scent frames incense, spices and animalic warmth as a kind of inner drama, with the image of a second skin glowing in the dusky hours.

Extra info

The name means “twilight of the souls,” and the composition leans into that idea with a dusky, almost theatrical mood. Atelier des Ors is known for infusing its perfumes with 24-carat gold, reinforcing the house’s signature link between fragrance and adornment.
