A tribute to the peace and harmony of a late summer afternoon; a fragrance that is pure, serene and enveloping.
A peaceful stroll through the wheat fields and almond trees as the light of a summer day wanes and the warmth of the air caresses your skin… Admiring the beauty of the sun as it starts dipping behind the rolling hills and bunches of wild roses and geraniums color the dimming countryside.
Their bountiful blooms release subtle droplets of nectar that float in the air and blend with the earthy scent of freshly cut wood, invading the early night…

Scent & Chemistry on Carner's Megalium:
"One of the most amazing perfume launches this year...The spicy oriental ingredient list sounds darker than it actually wears, and that is also due to the nice lift of the musk accord with a significant dose of the potent powdery fruity, woody-ambery shaded Nirvanolide musk and 2% of the red-fruity linear top-note musk Sylkolide, which together curb some aggressiveness of the cinnamon. 'Megalium' is a very beautiful and opulent composition, antique in conception, highly modern in its execution, very long-lasting with a massive silage and great projection: Clean and dirty all at once, cold incense smoke and warm woody-ambers, and most of all cinnamic in every respect. A hell of a perfume!"

... amazing how much work needs to be done to just put 'cinnamon' in the list of notes and how the aesthtic pyramid differs from technical skeletone of a fragrance.

The Sniff on Megalium by Carner: "Imagine, if you will, the cityscape of Pompeii. The year is AD 79, a rumbling volcano looms over the city emitting an occasional low growl but, for the moment, it is silent. Plaster and stone buildings stand proud against the hot sun of late summer, casting long shadows. Inside their walls, mosaics and pools reduce the ambient temperature to a more bearable level of warmth during the day, but the nights have started to turn cool."

I was inspired while visiting Kew Gardens in London in May. Every May there are hundreds of blooming magnolia trees in different sorts, sizes, scents and colours. Usually it is a very rainy season and my inspiration was to create a scent of the water and rain on magnolia trees.
The symbol of this modern perfume is an American modern dance pioneer Ruth St. Denis. She is not only a very talented performer, but also very feminine.
Divine Dancer is an ethereal, watercoloured, light, fresh, feminine floral perfume. It is modern and vivacious fruity floral scent .
The Divine Dancer perfume is dedicated to one of the first American modern dance and ballet performers Ruth St. Denis.
Her vibrant and spirited art of dance, influenced by the East and South Asia, her divine body move and incredible costumes made Ruth St. Denis a worldwide well known star. Her body projects as Temple of femininity.
When the dancer emerged from the darkness of the stage, her presence was immediately captivating, the air suddenly fragrant with her appearance. Adorned in jewels from head to toe, radiant in a special gold sari, her hair crowned in jasmine, she is an embodiment of divine feminine, mirroring the images of goddesses of Lakshmi and Saraswati but with the talented Ruth St. Denis touch of modern dance and ballet movement.

Experimentum Crucis by Etat Libre d'Orange £215.00
- Key notes:
- apple
- musk
- patchouli
- rose
- Aromagroups:
- aromatic
- floral
- woody
The Orange Extraordinaire collection.
A perfume inspired by Isaac Newton, apples, afternoon tea and the invisible forces that pull people closer.
This perfume is the first experiment of the house for their new extraordinaire line (not that they ever favored ordinary or safe).
Firstly, Experimentum Crucis has the most extraordinary projection and longevity as well as a novel multidimensional architecture of a formula. As you wear it, a scented dimension of Experimentum Crucis comes into being around you. No wonder, as the inspiration behind the perfume is the extraordinary Isaac Newton, the theory of gravity and the setup of universe.
To balance the perfume’s amazing projection, its character is quite transparent. It’s made up of elusive soft woods, a hint of waxy apple skin aroma, a shade of distant gentle tea rose and some spicy sparks. All notes are amalgamated together into a nebulous aromatic galaxy.

This girl is a gift for well-behaved men. The one who bursts into a party and suddenly makes you want to believe in Santa. Half way between a flirtatious temptress and a dancing queen, the temperature rises just by her presence.
To hell with “global warming”! She’s here to have fun, no matter what. Heavenly lightness in December… Sweet honey notes at the start lie on a vanilla-tangerine accord and all at once life becomes as captivating as the fullness of her décolleté. It’s soft and warm, notes swirl and dance, and the world starts spinning, like a faceted mirror ball, marvel of all marvels.
In the heart, red pepper mingles with nigella in a detonating cocktail of scents. Hot red lips adorn a lavishly extraverted smile. Breathtaking! The slightly musky, solar accord of the base speaks of the radiant warmness of her skin under her laughing throat. She calls for her after-midnight man, the one who will abduct her under the Xmas tree. And who will jealously sweep her off her feet and into his room, like a child would with his most precious present.

Coda by Aqualis £115.00
- Key notes:
- chypre
- cinnamon
- jasmine
- labdanum
- rose
- Aromagroups:
- floral
- leather
Now available in the new 2019 packaging option.
Coda is the conclusion of Aqualis’ passage of evolution to date. It introduces the close of musical symphonies, and the final dance of the Swan in Swan Lake - a natural, deliberate and beautifully considered climax.
Cinnamon bark oil and Egyptian bergamot creates a hugely unique opening. Turkish rose absolute and Egyptian jasmine absolute feature, but the true beauty of Coda lies in the base. The sweetness of Indonesian benzoin and the highly sensual French labdanum provides a base that will endure well after the last notes have sung their final song.
