Native to Central America, vanilla is an orchid which lives as a liana hanging off trees in humid tropical forests. Wild vanilla harvesters roam the dense jungle to find the precious vanilla fruit.
Cultivating vanilla pods is hard and delicate work. Each flower has to be pollinated manually by a master pollinator, impregnating each flower with a finger. This process is actually called “marriage”.
Several varieties of vanilla exist, and the most vibrant is the vanilla tahitensis. The fruit ripens naturally without human intervention, spontaneously releasing the typical warm, exotic and sweet notes.

Tahitian vanilla extracted with supercritical CO₂ became the centre of the composition, framed by ylang-ylang, champaca and warm woods. The house’s imagery evokes French Polynesia and Gauguin as an imaginative setting for this tropical interpretation.

The central Tahitian vanilla material is obtained through supercritical CO₂ extraction, chosen to preserve its aromatic nuances. A separate Extrait de Parfum adds magnolia to the floral structure, so it is not presented simply as a stronger version of this Eau de Parfum.
