No. 89 has been an icon among the Floris collection for over 60 years. First crafted in 1951, No. 89 takes its name from the number of their flagship shop on Jermyn Street.

Ian Fleming who was a customer of Floris mentions No. 89 in his James Bond universe.

No. 89 is a classic and timeless mix of fresh citruses, sparkly spices and aromatic herbs resting on sandalwood and oakmoss. There is an adventurous romantic twist in the formula though: a drop of rose.

No. 89 could be a fragrance for the quintessential English gentleman.

Multifaceted and elusive Crown Jewel can portray cold ouds and warming spices all at once. Indian oud harmonises with sweet saffron and the aromatic refreshing tones of cypriol. Warm nuances are created by amber and vanilla which are layerd and balanced by a background of woody sandalwood and green pine. The effect is oriental and leathery giving a rounded and rich diffusion.

In 1864, Prince Oscar of Sweden and his wife Sophie bought the Skabelycke estate overlooking the majestic Öresund strait, where they created their summer palace.

This summer palace is known today as Sofiero (Sophie-Ro) one of Europe's most beautiful parks.

As you step through the gates of Sofiero, you are enveloped by a calm feeling of happiness as a sea of flowers floods your senses with hundreds of different forms and colours.

The perfume is designed to transport you to this floral paradise on a warm and sunny summer day.

From the park you wander into the palace, where the antique wood panelling emanates nuances of sandalwood and amber, infused with fresh sea air through the open windows.

The wild side of the indomitable goat swirling with the learthery darkness of the mountain roads. Mushrooms and truffles conjur the habitat; and the dirty, bestial, almost aggressive side of the creature is felt through goat's milk, costus and oud. An earthy, woody, animalic fragrance denoting strength and virility. 

Floral leathers are at times hard to decipher. The floral nuances spread on top of dark woody and resinous materials cross the airy threshold and become dark and mysterious.

This is the case of Mandarava - a totally enigmatic perfume. Firstly, there are so many heady flowers in it: champaca, osmanthus, gardenia, yang-ylang, marigold and more. Each flower has a complex aroma of its own and when combined they become a strange infinite floral boquet.

Secondly, these flowers sit between aldehydes which in perfumery have an effect of frosted glass and distort familiar aromas. Then there is a maze of dark woody aromas: oud, benzoin, incense, Mysore sandalwood and animalic civet lurking in the darkest corners of that maze.

However, all this complexity makes sense eventually. It's not confusing but more of a Russian doll effect, albeit all of the dolls are translucent and the central one is visible behind all the layers.

An "eau de witch" with a list of notes that reads more like a forest witch potion than a perfume: mushrooms, goat hair and seaweed alongside herbs, spices and gentle flowers. Haxan is a sensory journey and an aromatic labyrinth, paved and decorated with every possible shade of dark green and grey.

Haxan is an ode to the ancient practices of sorcery, magic, alchemy and witchcraft. It is inspired by Benjamin Christensen’s 1922 cult film on this subject.

The perfume uses over 100 ingredients which are traditionally represented in potions and elixirs associated with these practices. Originally, it was a bespoke blend for a private customer of the perfume house.

Santal takes its inspiration from a Sandalwood fragrance originally created in the 1800s which has then been given a distinctive contemporary edge.
