A gentle, elusive marine floral, named after sweet-voiced mermaids. In Sirena, the salty breeze carries delicious wafts of fantasy fruit mixed with the intoxicating fragrance of oleanders.
Notes from the brand:
“Minorca, the birthplace of Juan Famenias Floris and home of the bronze mermaid of Mahon, was the inspiration for this creation. The scent captures the spirit and warmth of this sun-kissed Mediterranean island, and its rich flora lingering on a gentle sea breeze. A distillation of summer memories.”
All about this fragrance
Vibe check
Sirena suits the unhurried intimacy of an afternoon spent near the shore, with salt still on the skin and conversation close enough to catch its soft floral sweetness. Oleander and summer berries give the marine transparency a sensual warmth rather than a sporty edge.
How to wear
A natural choice for spring and summer, when its marine notes and soft florals complement mild to warm weather. Start with one or two sprays on the neck or forearms for a restrained effect; in hotter conditions, keep application light so the fruit and musk do not outweigh the airy impression.
Who it’s for
For those who enjoy transparent florals with a salty accent and a little fruit sweetness. Sirena will appeal to tastes that favor gentle sensuality over dense floral richness, with soft woods and musk supporting rather than dominating the flowers.
Release year
2011
The nose
Shelagh Foyle created Sirena and its companion fragrance, Mahon Leather. The two compositions explore contrasting aspects of Menorca: Sirena through flowers and marine freshness, Mahon Leather through the island’s equestrian traditions.
Floris’s story
Floris combines family perfumery traditions with contemporary composition, drawing on its archives and creating fragrances in-house at 89 Jermyn Street. Its approach brings natural materials and modern synthetics together, treating heritage as a starting point rather than a fixed formula.
Sirena’s concept
Sirena takes its inspiration from Menorca, the birthplace of founder Juan Famenias Floris, and Mô, the bronze mermaid of Mahón. Conceived as a distillation of summer memories, it translates the island’s sun-warmed flora and gentle sea breezes into a modern floral–marine fragrance.
Extra info
Sirena’s mermaid imagery has a specific local reference: Mô, the bronze mermaid of Mahón. It was released alongside Mahon Leather, making the pair two contrasting interpretations of the same island heritage.
