Santal takes its inspiration from a Sandalwood fragrance originally created in the 1800s which has then been given a distinctive contemporary edge.

Inspired by the concepts of “green” and “freedom”, Terra Hedera evokes horseback riding on the Mongolian steppe. A green hyacinth intertwined with tenacious ivy and crisp galbanum.

Astra Infinita is Latin for “endless stars”, and this extrait is a celestial blend of brightness and depth. It opens with a citrus supernova: Sicilian lemon, bitter orange and Calabrian bergamot, softened by the golden ripeness of mango and the narcotic bloom of Reunion ylang-ylang.

Silphium was a plant widely renowned as a spice, medicinal herb and perfume ingredient throughout the empires of classical antiquity, outshining both saffron and cinnamon. It was praised by Greek philosophers and writers, as well as Roman emperors and cookbook authors. The demand for Silphium eventually became so overwhelming that it was harvested to extinction, and the taste and smell of the once greatest spice in the world were lost in time.

This extinct plant was reconstructed by researching assumed relatives of Silphium, using aromachemicals (the molecular building blocks of scents) to create an accord reflecting historical descriptions. This is set against a background of ancient incense, woods and leather.

No. 89 has been an icon among the Floris collection for over 60 years. First crafted in 1951, No. 89 takes its name from the number of their flagship shop on Jermyn Street.

Ian Fleming who was a customer of Floris mentions No. 89 in his James Bond universe.

No. 89 is a classic and timeless mix of fresh citruses, sparkly spices and aromatic herbs resting on sandalwood and oakmoss. There is an adventurous romantic twist in the formula though: a drop of rose.

An olfactory poem in praise of the rugged elegance of vetiver. But despite being the subject, in this composition vetiver’s rich’n’rooty pleasures are folded into a harmony of resinous allies: the honeyed spice of opoponax and the licorice syrup of myrrh. “Zelen” translates to “green” in Serbian. This is vetiver as it was meant to be celebrated, energised by the natural world. The emerald earthiness of vetiver is lifted toward the sun on a cloud of lime, bergamot and pink peppercorn.
